What music styles will I learn?
Our keyboard program covers a wide range of music styles, including jazz, pop & classical. On the Organ, traditional organ repertoire can be studied. Our experienced instructors will guide you through diverse repertoire and techniques to help you develop your own unique musical voice.
How long are lessons?
Piano / Keyboard lessons at Harrogate Music School typically last for 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s level and preference.
Which ages do Harrogate Music School teach on Piano and will I need my own instrument?
We offer piano lessons to students of all ages, from young beginners (6) to adult learners. Our experienced instructors tailor lessons to suit individual learning styles and goals. While having your own piano or keyboard is ideal for practice, it is not a prerequisite for starting lessons. We can provide guidance on selecting the appropriate instrument for your needs.
What will I learn in a typical lesson?
In a typical 60-minute lesson plan, students can expect a combination of technical exercises, music theory instruction, repertoire practice, and personalized guidance from our skilled instructors. Lessons are structured to build a solid foundation and nurture each student’s musical growth.
Are lessons just for beginners?
Our piano lessons cater to beginners as well as intermediate and advanced students. Whether you’re just starting or looking to expand your skills, our instructors will guide you on your musical journey with patience and expertise.
Do you have to study towards music exams with HMS?
Prospective customers of Harrogate Music School should know that while studying towards recognized music qualifications is possible on any instrument, it is not a requirement of tuition with HMS. Our focus is on providing quality instruction tailored to each student’s goals and interests, whether they aim for formal qualifications or simply want to enhance their musical skills for personal enjoyment and growth.
