For most people, this is taken as additional support for school-based class tuition and can cover the basics of developing harmony, melody, music theory and structure within composition.

Studying additional composition lessons offers students a greater understanding of the key concepts involved, allowing a broad foundation of musical analysis with individual attention. Thus enabling the confidence to be creative within boundaries and using standard concepts.

Which syllabus do you teach?

At Harrogate Music School, we teach towards most of the main examining boards.

How long are lessons?

This very much depends on the timescale for requiring the support requested. Most students request at least 30 minutes to start with, before building up before the examination.
